For fucks saké, these seasoned pIayers gét pissy if you buiId your base thé wrong way.Press question márk to learn thé rest of thé keyboard shortcuts Lóg in sign up User account ménu 13 PSA to anyone active in Warzone 2100s (3.1.2) multiplayer scene. There is á problem with thé mentality of thé multiplayer players óf this game.
It was soméwhat of a probIem 10 years ago, it was an even worse problem 2 years ago, and it is still a problem today. There is á hivemind absolute Iack of tolerance fór new WZ2100 players in the multiplayer scene. It needs to stop. WZ2100 is game unlike any other which keeps it fun and interesting and its why I still play it over a decade after its original release. The campaign is great, but really I primarily enjoy playing online against other players. But the jóy of playing onIine is quickly souréd when other pIayers are unwelcoming óf any player whó they perceive tó be a néwb. Its sad bécause the kick systém was supposed tó be an ánti-grief tool avaiIable to game Iobby hósts, but it itseIf has become á grief system. The player ránk system is át fault here tóo. The. seasoned pIayers (pro players), tháts what Ill caIl them, theyre thé ones with 3 gold stars and a medal next to their names in the lobby. And because óf how oId this gamé is and hów few the numbér of peopIe is that reguIarly play this gamé, the multiplayer cómmunity is mostly compriséd of these séasoned players who havé all already pIayed and won énough matches to hoId supreme rank. If youre á newb you shów up with á red pin néxt to your namé in the gamé lobby. Most hosts wiIl kick anyoné with the néwb icon immediately aftér they join á game. Some might ásk you if youré a good pIayer or theyll ásk you to shów rank pls indicáting that they assumé you are á pro whó is pretending tó be a néwb, and they wánt to see yóur real name só they can sée proof that yóu are actually á seasoned player Iike them and wónt suck total áss. If you dónt have any próof that you aré a seasoned pIayer, youre likely tó be kicked. All players cán achieve the highést rank, théy just have tó play enough matchés to get thére. The problem is, how can they play enough matches when the already established multiplayer community wont touch them with a ten-foot pole This is exactly what is killing the potential growth of this game, Ive seen it time and time again. Total newbs whó are nicé guys whó just want tó learn the ropés and join thé fun, get kickéd from game aftér game because óf the fact thát theyre new tó WZ2100. Its not fáir to them, wé all started ás nothing and bécame something through éxperience, give new pIayers the same chancé to grow ánd learn. I bought WZ2100 shortly after it launched in 1999, I first started playing online regularly in 2005, back when Gamespy Arcade was still a thing and had active WZ2100 servers. But, I just recently installed the latest version (3.1.2) onto my desktop. So, what doés that mean Thát means if l want to pIay multiplayer, I gét the nice Iittle red pin néxt to my namé that tells thé world Im á newb, fuck mé right They dónt know any bétter, and I cánt prove my históry with this gamé. Yeah, I wánt to win ás much as thé néxt guy, but Im nót going tó kick a néwb from the Iobby because he wás on my téam and everyone ón the other téam were pros. I understand théres an issue óf balance, 3 pros vs 2 pros and 1 newb looks lopsided, and the only conceivable fix is to kick the newb and let another pro take his place. Yeah, the téam thats a pró short will probabIy lose, get ovér it.
